| Jay S. Jump is the principal for the Jump Law Group. JLG was created in 2001 after Mr. Jump's former firm, Clegg and Jump, dissolved. The Jump Law Group practices in the areas of bankruptcy, criminal defense, elder law, wills and trusts, family law, and aviation. Mr. Jump handles the aviation arm and bankruptcy arm of the practice as well as some of the criminal defense work. Mr. Jump is a lawyer and pilot. He obtained his private certificate in 2003, although his roots in aviation go back to when he was a child. Mr. Jump has focused on aviation as part of his practice since he was in law school. His papers on land use and aviation have been utilized in litigation for airports and FBO's where municipalities attempt to regulate airports and airfields in violation of the supremacy clause of the constitution. Mr. Jump is a member of the AOPA legal services panel since 2003. He advocates for pilots, A&P's, as well as airport authorities. When not pursuing aviation, Mr. Jump finds time to distinguish himself as one of the preeminent bankruptcy attorneys in the nation. The Washingston State Chair for the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, Mr. Jump speaks often at various CLE events and lectures on consumer bankruptcy. When the law changed in 2005, Mr. Jump was at the forefront attempting to declare the new bankruptcy reform act unconstitutional. In 2004, Mr. Jump moved to change the way creditors file claims in reorganization bankruptcy's demanding that evidence be provided as part of due process.
